I graduated from Westminster High School in 1993 and studied to work in the Fitness Industry at an early age at Regency TAFE. I had aspiration of playing soccer at a high level by due to injury focused on other things. In 1996 I moved to Sydney to pursue my love of the Fitness Industry and performing joining a 'Boy Band' called 'First Degree'. The group release a single in 1997 'Shake you down' (a cover from the Group Kool and the Gang) and toured around Australia supporting groups Human Nature and other local Australian groups.
After 2 years and not breaking through the music industry I left the group. In 1999 I focused more on the Fitness Industry and focused on the Sport of Natural Bodybuilding. In 1998 I won Junior Mr Australia and in 2000 won overall Natural My Sydney. Throughout 2000-2010 I worked throughout Sydney for various Fitness companies (Including Fitness First, InShape, World Gym, Gold’s Gym and others) and had the pleasure of working with Steve Willis (The Commando), studying with Michelle Bridges and other leading Fitness Professionals. I completed courses with Fitness Network, AIF and other training courses in Sydney.
In 2010 I moved back to Adelaide to be close to family. In 2011 I finally won Natural Bodybuilding Mr Australia and competed at the World titles in New York placing 4th. I currently work at Goodlife Glenelg and work with a great team as the Fitness Director and AIPT Campus Coordinator!
In February and October 2013 I was voted Employee of the month for Goodlife South Australia and voted Fitness Director of the Year for 2013. I also won a National Award with AIPT through running the AIPT Dernancourt Campus in 2013. A summary of my Education and Achievements are listed below for your perusal.
I started weight training at age 17 for soccer (I was playing club soccer for Birkalla and District Soccer). In an effort to compete with players bigger than me I trained my Legs and did Circuit classes to get fitter. After a year of training I noticed my body getting more toned and enjoyed the environment in the Gym. I studied to become an instructor in 1995 and while doing work experience met Chris Price (the current Mr South Australia and 2nd in Australia for Natural Bodybuilding). Chris was about 82kg on stage and looked fantastic.
He suggested I compete and after a long thought process gave it a go in 1996. Since then I have competed in 36 competitions over the past 17 years winning state and National Titles. My current goal is to win Mr. Australia (surpassing Chris my Mentor) and representing Australia at the World Titles placing in the Top 3.
